Q: Tell us a bit about yourself!

Rachel: I’m Rachel Griffin. I’ve owned MasterPiece Weddings for eight years now and I still love it just as much as ever.  I love couples’ love stories and finding a way to express how unique they are at their weddings.  I’m a wife and mom of three boys too. 🙂 I’m also a Gator Grad with a degree in Marketing, and History minor.

Q: How long have you been in business, and what got you into the industry?

Rachel: I’ve been in the industry for about 14 years, but have owned my company for eight. I’ve always loved everything to do with weddings. I was the girl who collected bridal magazines in high school and clipped my favorite inspirations. LOL I had file folders full of tips and ideas and favorite themes. (this was WAY before Pinterest) It’s been what I wanted to do since I saw Father of the Bride for the first time in middle school.

Q: What is something that your business does that makes you stand out?

Rachel: We stand out because we’re highly organized, friendly and calm across the board. We make sure we do the work upfront before the event, checking in with each vendor, to make sure every detail is checked and confirmed. We also only do one event per weekend, so our time is completely flexible to the couple’s needs, whatever they are. We’re nuts for a good wedding theme too, the more unique the better.

Q: Where do you see the wedding industry heading?

Rachel: I personally think the global events that we’re living through are going to move weddings towards more intimate celebrations. I think the focus will turn more towards creating celebrations that have real meaning and focus on family, and less on what’s trending in the moment. I see the number of guests decreasing, but the love and intimacy growing in leaps and bounds. Photography has always been an important element at any wedding, but I see it becoming even more vital along with the role of videography growing in significance too. Couples are going to rely more on these things to be able to share their day with loved ones and friends that weren’t able to attend in person.

Q: What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding?

Rachel: The best advice I can give a couple is to be true to themselves and what they want from their day. When couples try to please their parents or family and go against their personalities, they end up with a wedding that makes them more nervous or anxious. When they really focus on their own style and what’s important to them, they’re more relaxed and are able to just enjoy the day and be themselves.

Q: Is there anything else you want to tell us?

Rachel: II’m offering one-hour virtual planning sessions for couples that don’t have a planner but need some expert advice. $99 for the hour session.
