Micro-Wedding at the Hilton Hotel, University of Florida, Gainesville
Our first wedding back since before COVID-19 as a beautiful, intimate micro-wedding at the Hilton Hotel at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Some things were definitely a bit different, as you can see from the socially distanced ceremony, but all in all, it felt like going home. I’ve missed celebrating with my couples so much!
Maritza and Brent had an elegant micro-wedding (about 50 guests or less) at the UF Hilton Conference Center. The ceremony was indoors in Salon B&C and it was beautifully decorated in ivory and blue. While getting ready, Maritza had one of her dear sons with her and the other via Zoom. Deborah did an incredible job on her hair (did you know she did my hair for my wedding too?!) and Ana did an elegant bridal look for her makeup. Both ladies wore masks and face shields.
During the ceremony, the couple said their own vows and performed a unity candle ceremony. Their joy was palpable as soon as the officiant said that Brent could kiss his bride! Afterwards, we did family portraits in the atrium while Elio entertained the guests in Salon A. Maritza, Brent, and I also snuck out to do some portraits at the iconic oak tree.
They had a beautiful first dance and Maritza also danced with her son to “Fall on Me”. Elio then played some fun merengues that had the dance floor full! After some dancing, the happy couple cut into the incredible cake by Sarah from Sugar Mama’s Sweets and then heard a sweet toast from their best man. Thank you for letting us celebrate your love story with you! It was a wonderful first wedding back.
